QuichešŸ„ššŸ„

Quiche is one of my all-time favorite breakfast items, it's simple yet so fulfilling. The best part is you can virtually add any topping you like to your eggs in the pie. Who knew egg pie would make waves? I have indulged in quiche many times, but I had the best quiche in LA and I actually couldn't stop thinking about it. Sooo naturally, you know I had to recreate it šŸ˜Š

The quiche was so easy to make, it actually was a little silly how easy it was! By now it shouldn't come as a surprise how much I love spicy food, so I did add a sprinkle of red pepper to add kick to it. My choice of topping was mushroom, and it was divine. I won't ramble on anymore on how much I love quiche, but I promise you any beginner can make it and this will be the new breakfast staple!

Quiche

Prep time: 10 mins Bake time: 40 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of pie crust, refrigerate before using

  • 7 eggs

  • 2/4 cups milk

  • sprinkle of parsley, either finely chopped or in seasoning form

  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt

  • generous sprinkle of pepper

  • generous sprinkle of red pepper (optional)

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, or cheese of choice (feta is a yummy flavor)

  • 1 handful of chopped mushrooms

  • other toppings to add (optional)- bell pepper, ham, small Roma tomatoes, spinach

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Using a pie pan, lightly spray with nonstick oil. Add pie crust and gently press the bottom and sides.

  3. In a bowl, add eggs, milk, and seasonings. Whisk well.

  4. From the 1 cup of cheese, add about half to the bottom of the pie. Then add the egg mixture to the crust. Add in your mixings, and mix gently with a spatula. Once set, add the remaining cheese on top.

  5. Place pie in the oven and bake for 35-40 mins until eggs are set and not jiggly in the middle. Due to altitude, mine bakes right at 40 mins.

  6. Either serve immediately or let cool. If you are making this the night before, in the morning place oven at 325 degrees and reheat for about 10-15 mins.

  7. Bon Appetite!
